TOSIBOX Key Software, for Key and SoftKey

Installing from TOSIBOX^® Key flash drive

When taking the TOSIBOX^® Key into use, the Key software can be installed from the flash drive of the TOSIBOX^® Key device as follows:

Windows

1. Insert TOSIBOX^® Key in the computer’s USB port
2. Open the Key drive’s folder (KEY-NNNN) and double-click Setup_Tosibox.exe. If your computer asks whether you want to allow Tosibox to make changes to your computer, click “yes” (requires Administrator rights).
3. The application will launch automatically after installation

Mac OS X

To install the application into computer’s hard drive (recommended, starts faster):

1. Insert TOSIBOX^® Key in the computer’s USB port
2. Open Key flash drive (KEY-NNNN) in Finder
3. Drag “TosiboxClient” application into “Applications” folder
4. Run “TosiboxClient” from Applications folder
5. If your computer asks whether you want to allow Tosibox to make changes to your computer, click “yes”.

Alternatively, the application can also be started directly from the Key flash drive.

Installing latest software version from Internet

If you have trouble installing the software from the Key flash drive or if you want to reinstall the latest software e.g. for troubleshooting purposes, the Key software can also be downloaded from Tosibox website.

Windows

1. Download tbsetup.exe
2. Run the downloaded tbsetup.exe (requires Administrator rights)
3. The application will launch automatically after installation

Mac OS X

1. Download TosiboxKey.dmg
2. Open the downloaded disk image
3. Install the application by dragging “Tosibox Key” into “Applications” folder (recommended, starts faster). Alternatively you can also drag the application onto your TOSIBOX^® Key flash drive (KEY-NNNN) to run the application from the Key drive.
4. Start “TOSIBOX^® Key” application from the Applications folder.

The TOSIBOX^® 4G Modem delivers an LTE internet connection to TOSIBOX^® Lock. The TosiOnline™ functionality minimizes downtime through the Lock’s intelligent automatic reconnect and error recovery technology.

Tosibox Key malfunction

Tosibox Key

Go to Device Manager and look for the problematic device under the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section. The device should be marked with a yellow warning sign.

Please uninstall the driver and reboot the computer, so that the newest driver will be automatically (re)installed.

If the Key still doesn't work after that, please also try it in another computer, to verify if it is the key or computer that fails.

GSM modems regional diffrences

When it comes to GSM modems, the globe is split into 3 regions:
EMEA, APAC and US/CAN/EMEA

But different contries within each region, use more or less of the available frequency band for this region. So in some cases a modem for NMEA can be used in other regions, if all the frequency bands used in this country is suported in the EMEA version. 

Some tosibox 500 specific info  :

• TBL5iA for EMEA (normaly in stock in Malmö)

• Bands: LTE-A: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B20, B25, B26, B29, B30, B41

• TBL5iB for APAC

• Bands: LTE-A: B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B18, B19, B21, B28, B38, B39, B40, B41

• TBL5iC for US/CAN/EMEA

• Bands: LTE-A: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B20, B25, B26, B29, B41
  

To verify the frequency bands used in a specific country, and available carriers please check this site: https://www.frequencycheck.com/countries

E.g. South Korea use theese bands LTE: B1,B3,B5,B7,B8.
 This bands are suported in all 3 Tosibox versions, meaning you could use any of them :)

Tosibox LFC

Can a Tosibox LFC licence (e.g. on a PLC ), be moved / Transfered to another device ?

Answer:
You should be able to activate the same license on a new PLC as long as the old one is shutdown first.
Trying to activate more than one instance of the same license at a time will invalidate the license.

PS.
Please reset the serializations on the first device before trying to remove the LFC and use on the new device

TOSIBOX SoftKey activation

Requirements

To activate SoftKey on a PC or Mac, you will need:

• SoftKey license for the master Key – please contact us for purchase
• Key SW v3.0.0 or later both on the master Key and the client computer – Software for Windows and Mac

Also, to connect to Locks with SoftKey, the software on the Lock needs to support SoftKeys. SoftKey is supported from these versions onwards:

• Lock 100, Lock 200 and Lock 500: SW v3.3.0
• Central Lock and Virtual Central Lock: SW v2.3.0

1. On master Key: generate activation code

•Go to Devices > Manage Keys > Add Key, and add a new Key of type "SoftKey" and give it a name

•An activation code will be generated, send it over to the end user who shall activate and use the SoftKey client

2. On Client Computer: activate SoftKey

•Make sure TOSIBOX® Key software v3.0.0 or later is installed on the PC, either through inserting a hardware Key or download “tbsetup.exe” from https://www.beijerelectronics.com” . Start the software and activate the SoftKey by choosing Devices > Activate SoftKey"

3. On Master Key: confirm SoftKey

•Confirm the activation from the pop-up dialog

•Define access rights for the new SoftKey by following the wizard

4. On Client Computer: simultaneously as settings is made on Master Key (section 3, above)

TOSIBOX SoftKey (TBSKL1, TBSKL5m TBSKL10)

TOSIBOX^® SoftKey is a computer software that enables a secure connection between your computer and one or more TOSIBOX^® Locks, giving you full visibility and control over the network devices connected to the Lock. The SoftKey works without a physical TOSIBOX® Key device. The SoftKey corresponds to a Sub Key that is controlled via a physical Master Key, and therefore it cannot be used to create more keys or Mobile Clients.

TOSIBOX® SoftKey complies with the high security standards set for all TOSIBOX® products. The SoftKey is created according to the same safe procedures as for hardware Keys. The SoftKey is also computer- and user-specific i.e. it cannot be copied over or moved to another device. A Master Key user can always revoke access rights from a SoftKey – just like with all other Sub Keys and Mobile Clients.

Facts about SoftKey

• TOSIBOX® SoftKey can also be installed into cloud services and virtual environments.
• TOSIBOX® SoftKey can be created and access rights can be granted immediately even from the other side of the world.
• TOSIBOX® SoftKey can be used also in computers that do not have an USB port or where the use of USB devices is tricky.
• Each TOSIBOX® system must have at least one physical TOSIBOX® Key (Master Key) that is used to take TOSIBOX® Locks into use. In addition, creating a back-up key is recommended. Apart from these, all other keys can be SoftKeys.
• Both TOSIBOX® SoftKey software and physical TOSIBOX® Key devices can be used on the same computer.
• Two-factor authentication is fulfilled also with SoftKey: device-specific (something in your posession) and password-protected (something only you know).
• TOSIBOX® SoftKey is used with TOSIBOX® Key software that is supported on Windows XP or later and Mac OS X Lion 10.7 or later.
